Climbing out of the stone age.
More than a decade ago, Glenn Grossman founded Dinosaur Group with the ambition to prove that “prehistoric” business ideas—like personal relationships between banker and client—could not only survive a match with the increased power and convenience of computers, but prove more robust. Today, Dinosaur is a full service international investment bank with expertise in technology, international networks, personal relationships and financial innovations.
After years of growth and a bright outlook, Dinosaur recognized the need for a refreshed brand image. Its existing logo, featuring a Tyrannosaurus Rex in attack, did not communicate the service-orientated character of the organization, nor did it support the tenets of flexibility and customization that are key to the Dinosaur experience.
In its initial market analysis and strategic exploration, Objective Subject realized the color green offered an opportunity for significant ownership and competitive differentiation. We ultimately proposed an identity composed of half-circle Ds, of varying size and tints. This solution creates a visual representation of how the group dynamically adapts to meet its customers’ needs and also alludes to the scales on a dinosaur’s skin, which speaks to the firm’s incredible attention to detail.
Our creative implementation brought the new identity to life with a comprehensive set of business and marketing collateral and an innovative website. Built using cutting-edge technology to animate the scales in a perpetual, yet interactive movement, the new site works just as beautifully on a computer as it does on a mobile device. To reinforce key brand values, we also accounted for generous use of beautiful black and white photography.
