Uncubed: far far away from cubicle land

posted by on — 0 Comments

After waiting in a ridiculously long line, David and I finally made it out of the rain and into Uncubed (formerly known as the Silicon Alley Talent Fair) last Thursday to support our friends and collaborators Tarek & Chris at Wakefield.

The energy at NYC’s Altman Building was as palpable as the enthusiastic hellos were loud. Some of the coolest tech companies around (we’re talking to you Spotify & Tumblr) were on hand to meet and greet fearless job seekers. It was a fun time with the Shutterstock photo boothDivide ping-pong table, an old-school popcorn machine, endless bowls of candy, Grady’s Cold Brew coffee and MilkMade ice cream (caffeine & sugar = happy thursday).

Clever marketing touches from some of the 80 most innovative startups included Square 1 Bank (square notepads), Tumblr (really, Tommy is too cute to resist) and Spotify (great illustration graphics).

Congrats to the team at Uncubed for a successful gathering of creative companies, start-up speakers, dancing and all around good times. Who needs Silicon Valley anyway?
