David Jalbert-Gagnier
Since founding Objective Subject in 2007, David has led work for clients such as Associated Press, Council on Foreign Relations, and NYC Parks Department. A native of Saint-Hyacinthe, Québec, Canada, David earned a Diplôme d’Études Collégiales in Graphic Design from Dawson College in Montréal. After a spell studying philosophy, Landor Associates lured him back to design and David moved to New York City where he designed packaging for Smirnoff, and a branding system for Embraer’s executive jets, among others.
To explore his international interests, David left the States to join the team of the award-winning studio Hauser Lacour, based in Frankfurt. There, his work included exhibition and website design for the Frankfurter Kunstverein, a contemporary arts institution, and information architecture for Germany’s number one automobile website, AutoScout24.de.
David is a member of the American Institute of Graphic Arts (AIGA) and of the Usability Professionals’ Association, New York Chapter. He is also an avid rugby player, a sport of which his four year-old terrier Wolfgang only mildly approves.
